King’s Men Tour | Mississauga Ontario

Here are some shots from the King’s Men Tour featuring Donnie McClurkin, Marvin Sapp, Israel Houghton & Kirk Franklin.
This was an amazing show brought to us by the House of Levi Music Group and was hosted by comic Jay Martin.

The worst snow storm in 5 years hit 24 hours before the concert but that couldn’t stop this mega even from happening.

After I found parking and trudged through a foot of plowed snow, me and my wet socks made our way into the Hershey Centre.  I felt the anticipated excitement as soon as I entered the arena seating area but I snapped out of my spaced out state and got to work.

Started off with shooting the meet and greet with the 4 artists.  It was funny how I was doing my best to keep the line moving as we only had 40 mins to get through about 100 fans and Donnie McClurkin kept getting distracted by fans and the opening acts taking place on the concert stage! I think Kirk Franklin had to grab Donnie a dozen times to keep the flow of photos moving!

Jay Martin, Canada’s favorite comic, took the stage and had the crowd dying of laughter. I was busy shooting and running around and I missed almost the entire act.  The price I had to pay to shoot. Sigh.  Since then a half a dozen people have tried to recreate his jokes. Didn’t work though.

I then picked a shooting spot and got started.

I got my camera shooting and because I love these artists’ music, I caught myself singing and worshipping while clicking.  It was an awesome show.  This one will be hard to top.  There was the personal message from Marvin Sapp, the amazing singing from Donnie and Israel and the high energy of Kirk. Perfect compliment to one another.  Kirk seems to like jumping off the stage to go into the crowd to sing like he has done at his 2012 concert here and he obliged once again.  This time though, the only person around to hold the mic for him when he hopped back over the stage was non other than the Photosapien! I won’t lie, the mic was in my hand for less than 6 seconds but I was TEMPTED to drop some notes for the 4,500 in attendance. But I knew that would send people running for the exits faster than a SWAT teams’ tear gas assault.

One of my show highlights was Donnie “taking it to the islands” and Kirk ‘helping’ him dance like he was at Carnival.  Poor Donnie could barely work those hips or understand the  request from a lady in the front row to “rewind and come again” spoken in Jamaican Patois. All Donnie could ask was “what did she say?”.  Hey, he wanted to ‘take it to the islands’ right?

The House of Levi Music Group put together a great event and I’m glad I was there to witness it.

Take a look at the pics and let me know what you enjoyed most about the show.
